LHP Brad Mills to Disabled List, RHP Scott Richmond Assigned to Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Friday that LHP Brad Mills has been placed on the 7-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, RHP Scott Richmond has been assigned to the Round Rock Express.

Mills went 5-0 with a 3.71 ERA in seven starts with the Express before being placed on the DL. The southpaw was the first Round Rock pitcher to reach five wins and has earned a victory in each of his last two starts. His last start came on May 10 at Las Vegas in which he allowed a season-high six runs on eight hits over 5.0 innings.

Texas also announced assignment of right-hander Scott Richmond to Round Rock. Richmond, 33, most recently pitched with the Lotte Giants in Korean Professional League before joining the Rangers organization on May 15. Before joining the Korean Professional League, Richmond was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He spent parts of four seasons in the major leagues (all with Toronto) and owns a 9-14 record with a 5.27 ERA.

The Express continues an eight-game homestand with game two of a four-game set against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox tonight at 7:05 p.m. Tonight's game features Budweiser Friday Fireworks following the conclusion of the game. The Budweiser Clydesdales will also be at Dell Diamond before tonight's game. After four games against the Sky Sox, the Express will welcome the Reno Aces (Diamondbacks) for four games at Dell Diamond on May 20-23.
