WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - Lexington Legends' outfielder, Seuly Matias has been selected to the 2018 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game, played Sunday, July 15 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

The 19-year-old Matias has had an impressive start this season with the Legends, Single-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, and currently leads all levels of Minor League Baseball with 25 home runs. Matias is the Royal's 3rd-best prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. At the plate, he is batting .219 with 10 doubles and 45 RBI. Matias is 2nd in the South Atlantic League in slugging percentage (.571) and third in total bases (36). The last Legend to be named to the Future's roster was Miguel Almonte (2013).

"It has been exhilarating to watch Seuly develop at the plate and continue to have so much success. We are proud to have him recognized for his hard work that has clearly paid off. Although we are no stranger to having talented power hitters, with the likes of Hunter Pence and JD Martinez also spending time in Lexington, it is great to also see Matias join the ranks of those players. It is an honor to have him named to the Futures Game roster and we cannot wait to see him compete at Nationals Park later this month," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.

This will be Matias' first Futures Game and is the lone representative of the Kansas City Royals. The 2018 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game takes place Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m. CT. The game will air live on MLB Network.

The Legends, a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and member of the South Atlantic League, play all home games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky. For ticket information, call (859) 422-7867 or visit LexingtonLegends.com.
