Lemurs Score 10 Unanswered, Split Series

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Laredo Lemurs drove in eight in the seventh and two more in the eighth, as they blew by the Kansas City T-Bones in the final three innings and captured a 13-7 victory in front of 7,007 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Thursday night.

The score was 6-3 in favor of the T-Bones when Laredo came up to bat in the seventh inning. Seven hits and 12 batters later, after eight Lemurs scurried across the plate, Kansas City found itself down five runs. The visitors added two more in the eighth, making the deficit seven.

Lucas Irvine went six-plus innings for the T-Bones, giving up five runs. It was the first time in his last three starts he did not finish the game. Sean Toler (2-3) gave up six runs in the seventh before being removed for Jose Jimenez.

Jake Cowan went five innings for the Lemurs, striking out four. Jameson Maj (2-1) earned the win after going two innings in relief.

Jairo Perez hit his 17th homer of the year in the third inning, which gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead. Petey Paramore hit his first of the season in the ninth.

The win for Laredo split the four-game series in Kansas City. The T-Bones took the season series 7-6.

Kansas City begins a six-game road trip to Sioux Falls and Gary starting Friday night at 7:05. They return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark on August 9 against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
