San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - Yanick Lehoux's hat trick, the team's third of the season, lifted the San Antonio Rampage to a 4-3 win over the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights at the AT&T Center Tuesday night. Lehoux and Alex Leavitt propelled San Antonio to an early 3-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of the opening period.
Leavitt recorded the Rampage's first goal 3:53 into regulation, marking his third goal in as many nights. Chris Ferraro was credited with an assist along with Don MacLean who has tallied at least a point in nine consecutive games.
Lehoux's first goal, at the 6:14 mark, was also his 26th of the season while Keith Yandle and Jakub Koreis were credited with the assists. A little over three minutes later, Koreis fed the puck to Lehoux from behind the net for a goal from the slot forcing Omaha to replace netminder Curtis McElhinney with former Rampage Brent Krahn.
Omaha took the ice in the second stanza with a strong presence outshooting the Rampage 12-5 and erasing the three-goal deficit. Tomi Maki scored five minutes into the period as Brandon Prust and Warren Peters were quick to follow within a 4:31 span. Maki and Peters scored short-handedly while Maki contributed an assist on Prust's 16th goal of the season.
Yanick Lehoux completed his first hat trick of the season at the 8:43 mark in the final session with the game-winning goal. Bryan Helmer and Joel Perrault were credited with the helpers on Lehoux's 28th goal of the season.
The Rampage, now 29-38-1-4, host the Worcester Sharks at 7 p.m. this Thursday at the AT&T Center.
