Giroux returns, Klepis recalled to Washington

HERSHEY - The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced Tuesday that right wing Alexandre Giroux has been assigned by the Washington Capitals. The Capitals also announced Tuesday that right wing Jakub Klepis has been recalled to the NHL club. The announcement was made Tuesday by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and Capitals VP/General Manager George McPhee.

Giroux returns to Chocolatetown leading HERSHEY in goals with 38 and points with 61 this season. With Washington, he has scored two goals and assisted on two others in nine games for the Capitals during 2006-07. Klepis, who scored the game-winning goal for HERSHEY Sunday, returns to Washington for the second time this season. He has eight points in 36 games for the Capitals, and 27 points in 27 games for HERSHEY during the current campaign.

The BEARS head to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for an East Division showdown with the Penguins Friday at 7:05 p.m. After Bridgeport comes to town Saturday night for a 7:00 p.m. tilt, the BEARS welcome the Penguins to GIANT Center Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for this weekend's games are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. HERSHEY enters play this week with 44 wins and 100 points with ten regular season games remaining.
