Michael Ryan rejoins Amerks today

(Rochester, March 27)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that left wing Michael Ryan has been re-assigned to Rochester by the Buffalo Sabres.

Ryan has been with the Sabres since his recall on February 18th. During the longest recall of his pro career, he played in 16 games and recorded three goals and two assists. On March 2nd against Montreal, he scored his first two National Hockey League goals. This season, he has played in 19 games at the NHL level and has five points (3+2).

He returns to Rochester, where he posted 41 points (21+20) in 41 games. Before his recall, he registered his second natural hat trick in three games in the Amerks' 5-2 win over Syracuse on February 17th.

The Boston native was the Dallas Stars' second-round selection (32nd overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He arrived in Buffalo, along with a second-round pick in the 2003 Entry Draft, for Stu Barnes on March 10, 2003. He is currently in his fourth season with the Sabres' organization.

This week, the Amerks will remain at home for a two-game series against the Toronto Marlies. Game one will be played on Wednesday, March 28th on IKON Office Solution Night. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
