A five-run third inning put Lexington in front, and the Legends went on to an 8-5 win over the Hagerstown Suns Saturday night in Hagerstown. The victory ended the Legends' losing streak at seven games.

Samir Duenez, on his 20th birthday, had two hits and three runs batted in for the Legends. Duenez is second in the South Atlantic League in RBI with 45, two behind David Thompson of Columbia.

Michael Hill had three hits and two runs batted in for Lexington, and extended his hitting streak to 10 games. He is 6-for-13 in the first three games of the Hagerstown series, and is 11-for-20 in five games against the Suns this season.

The Suns took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Victor Robles and Max Schrock started the inning with singles, and a passed ball allowed the runners to advance to second and third. A ground out by Grant DeBruin scored Robles, and Schrock came home when shortstop Marten Gasparini committed a throwing error after fielding a grounder hit by Rhett Wiseman.

Hagerstown added a run in the third on a single by Edwin Lora and a triple by Telmito Agustin.

Roman Collins started the Legends third-inning rally with a one-out single. Gasparini followed with a single, and Collins moved from second to third on an error by Agustin in left field. Duenez followed with a two-run double and then scored the tying run on a double by Anderson Miller. Miller scored on a throwing error by pitcher Joan Baez after Baez fielded a ball hit by Amalani Fukofuka. Fukofuka reached second on the play and scored on a double by Hill.

The Legends scored a run in the fifth on a single by Fukofuka and a double by Hill, but the Suns answered with a solo homer by Agustin, leaving the score at 6-4.

Run-scoring singles by Gasparini and Duenez in the sixth gave the Legends a four-run margin.

Hagerstown scored its final run in the seventh.

Legends starter Nolan Watson (2-6) pitched the first five innings and got the win. Franco Terrero worked the sixth through the eighth, and Matt Ditman pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.

Baez (2-5), the Hagerstown starter, was the losing pitcher.

Hagerstown has won two of the first three games in the series, which concludes Sunday. First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m.
