Lexington Legends News Release

Hunter Pence broke offensive ice with a two run home run in the fourth and Jonny Ash iced the game with a grand slam an inning later to lead Lexington to a 10-5 win Tuesday night.

The grand slam is the second of the year for the Legends. Scott Robinson belted his against Delmarva on April 9th at Applebee's Park.

The evening began poorly for the Lexington. Evan Englebrook surrendered four runs in the first inning thanks to two walks and two costly Legend errors.

Lexington cranked up the offense in the fourth inning to erase the deficit. Pence' homer cut the margin in half at 4-2. Saul Torres, who was hit by a pitch, scored on Chris Clark's double. Jonny Ash hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring Scott Robinson to tie the game at four. Edgar Babilonia gave Lexington the lead with an RBI single scoring Clark.

The Legends took control with five in the fifth inning. A bases loaded walk to Chris Clark made it 6-4. Ash' grand slam cleared the bases to make it 10-4. The Power added a run in the sixth to finish the scoring.

Raymar Diaz (1-1) earned the win with three innings of relief allowing just a run on three hits. Evan Englebrook, who started, settled down after the rocky first with four innings. Enyelbert Soto closed out the game with two innings of work.

The Legends will look for their fifth straight win against West Virginia Wednesday morning at 10:35am. Troy Patton will face Yovani Gallardo. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will kick of network coverage beginning at 10:20.
