
Legends Post Series Split With 7-2 Win

Lexington Legends News Release
The Lexington Legends followed a similar script Thursday night. Early offense and solid pitching in route to a 7-2 win over Greensboro. The victory helped the Legends gain a series split. The win also moved the Legends past Greensboro and back into second place in the Northern Division of the SAL.
Jimmy Barthmaier (3-0) rebounded from a slow start to work six innings to record his third win of the year. The Legends roughed up Greensboro starter, Adam Brandenburg (2-1). The lefty coughed up six runs on ten hits in five innings of work.
Lexington didn't waste anytime scoring. The Legends pushed across three runs in the first inning on singles by Saul Torres and Francisco Caraballo. Mitch Einertson doubled in the second and scored on Chris Clark's single to make 4-0.
The Legends tacked on two more in the fourth on a Hunter Pence double and a Scott Robinson single. Caraballo belted his fifth homer, a solo shot, in the 8th inning.
The Grasshoppers first run came in the second a throwing error by Chris Clark. Greensboro ended the scoring with a run in the eighth on a fielder's choice.
The Legends return to Applebee's Park on Friday night for a four game series with Asheville. Friday night is used "Car Giveaway Night" at âThe Orchard'. First pitch is set for 7:05, the Progressive Direct pre-game show will kickoff Legends network coverage at 6:50.
