Legends Near Wire-To-Wire Win Over Wisconsin in Final Showcase Game

ORLANDO, FL - The Texas Legends (6-10) finished the Showcase portion of the season on a high note with a 121-103 win over the Wisconsin Herd (5-11).
The Herd took advantage of back-to-back early turnovers by Texas to grab the first lead but the Legends responded with an outside shot from Jelly Walker and never looked back. Texas had a 12-point edge midway through the first, but an 11-0 run put the Herd back within reach. The Herd had another big stretch in the second, nearly erasing a 15-point gap with a 16-4 stretch but the Legends finished the half up 65-56.
Texas began the fourth with a 10-point advantage and built their largest lead of the night (+23) midway through, comfortably holding off the Herd in their first and only meeting of the year.
Jelly Walker led all scorers with 32 points, 5 assists. Tony Bradley made the most of limited minutes with his first double-double of the season of 12 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists. Joe Wieskamp came off the bench for 19 points, 8 rebounds. Justin Jackson also added 19 points and Josh Nzeakor finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Theo Pinson rounded out the double figures with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Drew Timme grabbed 16 points, 15 rebounds for the Herd off the bench while Marques Bolden topped the scoring with 19 points and 4 assists.
The Legends will open the regular season on the road against the Mexico City Capitanes. The two meet Wednesday, Dec. 27th and Thursday, Dec. 28th.
