Iowa Wolves Defeated by Long Island Nets, 115-105

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Long Island Nets defeated the Iowa Wolves, 115-105, on Friday morning at the 2023 NBA G League Winter Showcase.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Iowa (6-10) and concluded the Showcase portion of the team's schedule. The records of all G League teams reset for the regular season portion of the schedule that starts for the Wolves on Friday, Dec. 29 when they host the College Park Skyhawks at 7 p.m. CT.

Iowa was led in scoring by two-way Daishen Nix and Minnesota assignee Josh Minott who each scored 21 points. Nix added five assists four rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Minott posted a double-double with 12 rebounds and added an impressive six assists, six blocks and three assists. Fellow Timberwolves assignee Leonard Miller added 14 points and seven rebounds while Trevor Keels scored 15 points off the bench.

Two-way Keon Johnson paced Long Island (9-7) with a season-high 27 points while Nets assignee Noah Clowney posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Miller's first three of the game gave Iowa its final lead 9-5 early in the fourth quarter. However, Long Island countered with a 9-0 run and never trailed again. The Nets 67-55 at halftime and kept the margin at or just below double figures the rest of the game.
