
Legends Drop Game One to Intimidators

INTIMIDATORS STADIUM (Kannapolis, NC) - The Lexington Legends traveled to face the Kannapolis Intimidators in the first of a three-game series, and despite taking an early lead, the Legends fell to the Intimidators 4-1. Lexington now drops to 37-37 and Kannapolis improves to 43-31.
The Legends plated their lone run of the game in the top of the fifth inning. Cristian Perez led off with a bunt single, then swiped second base. Marten Gasparini singled home Perez and Lexington led 1-0.
Kannapolis staged their comeback in the bottom of sixth. Luis Curbelo singled to shallow left field. The Intimidators loaded the bases when Legends pitcher, Andres Sotillet hit the next two batters, Craig Dedelow and Tate Blackman, with a pitch. With the bases juiced, Michael Hickman lined a double to right field, plating two runs. Tyler Frost then followed up with a two-run single to right field, putting the Intimidators on top, 4-1.
Park Rigler was awarded the win for Kannapolis, tossing 7.0 innings allowing one run on five hits while walking two and striking out six. Andres Sotillet was given the loss, pitching 5.1 innings allowing four runs on six hits and striking out five.
The Legends and Intimidators meet for game two tomorrow, June 28 at 7:05 p.m. Lexington will send RHP Yefri Del Rosario (0-3, 10.45 ERA) and Kannapolis is TBD.
