July 19, 2007 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release

Hagerstown, MD: For the third consecutive night, the Lexington Legends beat the Hagerstown Suns in extra innings 3-1 in eleven innings on Thursday.

The Suns took an early 1-0 lead, when Jhonatan Solano drove in Joe Napoli in the second inning, but then Lexington starter Polin Trinidad shut down the Hagerstown attack. Trinidad lasted seven innings, allowed only two hits, walked two and struck out six Suns.

Suns' starter Don Levinski was even better, pitching six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out six batters.

The difference in the game was the disparity in the bullpens. Santo Luis pitched three innings of scoreless relief for the Legends, allowing only two baserunners to earn the win, while Coby Mavroulis allowed one run in the seventh inning for the Suns to tie the game at 1-1.

The score remained knotted at one run apiece until the top of the 11th inning, when Jordan Parraz hit a two run double down the left field run to give the Legends a 3-1 lead. Hagerstown was unable to muster an effective reply, and Kyle DeYoung earned his fourth save of the season, retiring the Suns in order in the 11th inning.

The Suns and Legends will play their series finale on Friday at 7:05 P.M. Gates will open at Municipal Stadium at 6:05. For tickets, or for more information, call the Suns at (301) 791-6266 or visit them on the web at www.hagerstownsuns.com.
