
Braves Send Tourists Packing Again

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Asheville Tourists for the third straight time Thursday 7-3 at State Mutual Stadium before 2,709 fans.
The Braves jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning as Phillip Britton singled and later scored on a Yohan Silva base hit. The other run crossed the plate on a bases loaded walk by Travis Jones. The Braves added another run in the fourth to make it a 3-0 game as Chad Lundahl singled to start the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Silva. Lundahl scored on a sacrifice fly by Willie Cabrera. .
Rome increased their lead in the fifth. Larry Williams doubled to start off the inning and later scored on a Britton single. Yohan Silva later hit a three run homer to give Rome a 7-0 cushion.
The Tourists scored three runs in the eighth only to fall short as the Braves earned the 7-3 victory.
Michael Broadway merits the win (5-4) for Rome while Andy Graham is tagged with the lose (8-7) for Asheville.
Roster Moves: Willie Cabrera has been sent to Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League while Chad Lundahl has been placed with the Danville Braves of the Appalachian League. Rome receives infielder Brandon Hicks from Danville. The Braves conclude the series and the home stand tomorrow night at seven o'clock at State Mutual Stadium.
