Lexington Legends News Release

The Lexington Legends will open a nine-day, 10-game homestand Saturday night, July 4 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

The homestand includes a doubleheader Thursday, July 9 against Savannah. The doubleheader is being played to make up a game that was rained out in Savannah June 27.

Also, at each game through July 9, fans may take part in an interactive art project on the concourse. Fans will sign miniature baseball bats, which will then be used to create a permanent installation at the ballpark. The Legends are working with LexArts, artists BroCoLoco and Deutsche Bank on the project.

"With 10 games in nine days, our fans can count on a lot of fun at the ballpark," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "The Independence Day celebration is a great way to get everything started, and there's much more to come after that."

The schedule:

Saturday, July 4: Legends vs. Asheville, 7:05 p.m. The Legends will celebrate Independence Day with a Ford Fireworks show following the game against Asheville. Fans will receive 3D glasses for fireworks viewing.
