Feb 14th, 2003: Leafs 5 @ Crunch 2

Molson Canadian first star Brad Boyes scored three third period goals to lead the St. John's Maple Leafs to a 5-2 victory over the Syracuse Crunch in American Hockey League action Friday night at the On Centre in Central New York. It was the first hat trick (19th, 20th and 21st) of his pro career and gives the rookie sensation seven points in the past two games and the team lead in scoring with 46 points. The Maple Leafs (21-30-5-1) won their third straight game and are 7-1-1-0 in the last nine games to creep back into the race for the tenth and final playoff spot in the Eastern conference, five points behind the Springfield Falcons who have two games in hand.

Feb 15th, 2003: Leafs 0 @ Senators 9

Antoine Vermette scored a pair of goals and had three points and Ray Emery posted his fifth shutout of the season as the Binghamton Senators crushed the St. John's Maple Leafs, 9-0. Vermette, the team's leading scorer since Jason Spezza was called up, tallied his team-leading 10th power-play goal of the season with 1:44 left in the first period, making it 3-0. Vermette added an unassisted score at 8:38 in the third before he drew an assist on the final goal of the contest by Dean Melanson for Binghamton, which was 3-for-5 with the man advantage.
