Lead Slips away in Extra Innings

Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators lost 8-7 to the Altoona Curve Tuesday night at PNG Field in Altoona. Harrisburg had a 7-2 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning before Altoona mounted their comeback. The Curve scored three runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to tie the game. The winning run scored with two outs on a single in the tenth inning.

The Big Play

The Sens were leading 7-2 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Aaron Shackelford hit a three-run home run to bring Altoona to within two runs.

Filibusters

Dérmis Garcia hit two home runs, both solo shots for the Sens... Dylan Crews was four-for-five with a three-run home run and four RBIs... Harrisburg committed two costly errors in the first inning that allowed two runs to score... There were 11 pitchers between the two teams in the game... The Senators pounded out 13 hits and went 5-14 with runners in scoring position.

On the Docket

The Senators and Curve play game two of their six-game series Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
