The Somerset Patriots were defeated 8-2 by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the series opener of their six-game set in Manchester, New Hampshire on Tuesday night.

RHP Blane Abeyta (4.0 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) was tagged with the loss after the game began with six consecutive hits for New Hampshire.

DH Agustin Ramirez (1-for-4, 2 RBI, BB, 2 K) brought home the game's only two runs with a 110-mph struck single in the fifth inning.

Ramirez has now hit safely in all four games for the Patriots and leads the team with 8 RBIs.

SS Ben Cowles (1-for-4, 2B, 2 K) doubled in the eighth inning, now having hit safely in the first four games of the season.

RHP Carlos Gomez (2.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 3 K) fired two scoreless frames out of the bullpen, now beginning his season with a four-inning scoreless streak.
