Augusta Lynx News Release
AUGUSTA, GAâ The Augusta Lynx announced today that Defenseman Jay Leach and Winger Ryan Lauzon have both been recalled to Springfield of the American Hockey League. The call-up leaves the Lynx with just 12 players scheduled to be in this evening's line-up when the Lynx face-off with the Greenville Grrrowl. The Lynx have also lost forward Vince Malts to a season ending knee injury and Philippe Roy to season ending knee surgery.
The 6'4" defenseman Leach had been hot for Augusta, scoring 3 goals in his last 5 games, bringing his season totals up to 8 goals and 11 assists on the year. The second year player will be making his first ever appearance in the American Hockey League when he suits up for Springfield.
Forward Ryan Lauzon is having his best offensive season of his brief pro career and recently reached the 20-goal plateau. Lauzon, the Lynx fifth leading scorer, has totaled 40 points in 65 games including 6 power play goals, 3 short handed goals, and 3 game winners. Ryan will be making his third return trip to the American League having previously played 39 games with Springfield.
The Lynx host the Greenville Grrrowl this evening at the Civic Center starting at 7:35 PM. For tickets contact the Lynx Office at 724-4423.
