Ontario Clippers News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Iowa Wolves (1-5) earned their first win of the season as they hold off the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (1-3), 109-103, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Clippers, still searching for a win at home, made things interesting late in the second half despite trailing for most of the game. Facing a deficit of as much as 15 points with six minutes left in the third quarter, Agua Caliente went on an 18-4 run to cut the lead to one, thanks to a three-pointer from LA Clippers assignee Jerome Robinson at the 2:30 mark.

Robinson finished with a game-high 35 points, on 13-of-22 shooting, to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Iowa was able to hold on with help from multiple costly mistakes late in the game by the Clippers. After Agua Caliente took a 102-100 lead with 1:29 left in the game, a three-point play by Hakim Warrick gave the Wolves their lead back. A costly unforced turnover followed by a flagrant-two foul by Jamel Artis sealed the game for Iowa.

Iowa saw five players score 15 or more points, with two-way player Jared Terrell's 20-point, 5-rebound performance leading the way. Canyon Barry hit four of his eight free-throws in the closing seconds and finished with 19 points.

Two-way player Angel Delgado recorded his second double-double of the season for Agua Caliente, putting up 15 points and 13 rebounds. Fellow two-way player Johnathan Motley scored 14 points to go along with 9 rebounds before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.

The Clippers will try to move to 2-0 on the road as they face the Northern Arizona Suns on Friday in a 6 p.m. showdown at Prescott Valley Event Center in Prescott Valley, AZ.
