Cleveland Charge News Release

CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (2-2), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, were defeated at home by the Westchester Knicks (4-2), 106-95, at the Memorial Civic Center on Wednesday night.

Trailing 56-50 at the half, Canton came out and hit a trio of triples in an 11-4 run to go ahead for a 61-60 lead. After an ensuing Knicks timeout, the visitors responded with a 9-2 run of their own to regain the advantage that they never would relinquish. Westchester led by as many as 15 in the second half thanks in part to holding Canton to 16-of-52 shooting as a team (30.7%).

The Charge set a franchise record for steals in a game in the defeat, nabbing 22 and shattering their old record of 16 set on the road against Maine on 2/28/14. JaCorey Williams led Canton with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes. Levi Randolph netted 17 points on 4-of-4 from three-point range and three steals in 33 minutes. Scoochie Smith had 14 points and four steals in 32 minutes.

Westchester was paced by Isaiah Hicks's game-high 27 points with nine rebounds in 37 minutes. Luke Kornet posted a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds with five blocks in 33 minutes. John Jenkins poured in 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 35 minutes.
