
Hustle Grind out Third Straight Win, Pull Away Late over Windy City

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle defeated the Windy City Bulls 110-92 Wednesday at Landers Center, marking the team's third consecutive win and sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Memphis forced a franchise-record 27 turnovers and owned a 37-11 advantage in points off turnovers.
The Hustle guard trio of Grizzlies assignee Jevon Carter, Markel Crawford and Brandon Goodwin combined for 65 points to pave the way for the win. Goodwin led with a game-high 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting (3-5 3P) to go with six rebounds and three assists. Carter had 21 points to go with six rebounds, six assists and five steals, marking his fourth straight game with at least two steals and his second five-steal outing of the season. Crawford finished with a productive 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Doral Moore (10 points, eight rebounds) also scored in double digits.
All five Bulls starters scored in double figures, led by C.J. Fair's double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Fair also dished a game-high seven assists. JaKarr Sampson, Mychal Mulder and Thomas Wilder each chipped in with 14 points apiece. Memphis native Ferrakohn Hall poured in 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting off the bench. V.J. Beachem (10 points) also reached double digits.
The game started slow offensively, with the teams fighting to an 18-17 Hustle lead after the opening frame. Memphis shot just 30.4 percent (7-23 FG) overall in the first quarter while Windy City knocked down 8-of-15 (.533) attempts. The Hustle made do by forcing seven turnovers and committing just one, eventually taking a 45-38 lead into halftime. Over the last two games, the Hustle have given up just 68 first half points.
Memphis would then open up a 12-point lead out of the break but Windy City would fight back from its first of two double-digit deficits to take a 62-61 lead with 4:44 remaining in the third. The Hustle responded with a 9-0 run to close out the quarter and extended the run to 21-6 to take a 14-point lead (82-68) with 9:18 left in the game. Windy City would then respond to tie the game at 84-84 with 5:42 remaining. With a 90-88 lead at the 4:26 mark, Memphis would finish the game on a 20-4 run.
The Hustle continue its six-game homestand with a big Saturday night matchup against the currently unbeaten Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-0) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 17.
