
Late Basket Pushes G League Ignite to Victory over Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, fell to G League Ignite 126-124 on Sunday afternoon at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
Ignite (2-1) guard Scoot Henderson's driving basket with 4.5 seconds to play proved to be the game-winner after the Squadron's (1-2) Kelan Martin made a pair of free throws to tie the contest at 124 with 12.2 ticks left.
Birmingham was led by two-way guard Dereon Seabron's 37 points, a season-high for the NC State product, while Martin tossed in 23. Forward Zylan Cheatham was a rebound away from a double-double, posting 18 points and nine boards.
John Jenkins notched 37 points to pace Ignite, while center Eric Mika finished the game with a double-double (18 points and 11 rebounds). Henderson scored 20 points in 37 minutes of action.
Birmingham takes on G League Ignite at home for a second time in three days on Tuesday night, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. at Legacy Arena. The game will be televised locally on My68 WABM and nationally on ESPN+.
