
Clippers Defeat Skyforce in First Half of Back-to-Back

Sioux Falls, SD - The Ontario Clippers (2-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, end the 2022 calendar year with a win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (0-2), 99-95, on Saturday in the first half of a back-to-back.
LA Clippers Assignee Jason Preston led the Clippers with 19 points on 8-15 FGA, 10 rebounds and five assists. Two-Way Forward Moussa Diabate added a huge 16-point, 22-rebound double-double in the victory.
DJ Stewart finished with 28 points on 11-21 FGA, six rebounds and two assists for Sioux Falls. Dru Smith added 26 points on 10-18 FGA, four rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Ontario got out to a 26-16 lead after the first quarter, as Diabate led the way with eight points and seven rebounds in the frame.
The Skyforce took the second period 29-24, as Stewart scored 11 points on 5-7 FGA, which cut the Clippers' lead to 50-45 at halftime.
Sioux Falls shot 57.9 percent from the field in the third quarter (11-19 FGA), as Smith paced the team with 11 points on 3-4 FGA. Brandon Boston (16 points on 5-16 FGA) and Michael Devoe combined for 16 points for Ontario, who held a 78-73 lead going into the final quarter.
After trailing by as many as six in the fourth quarter, the Skyforce tied the game at 95-apiece with 2:00 remaining in the game. Sioux Falls missed their last three shots in the closing minutes to drop the game.
Both teams meet again to close out the two-game series Today (Sunday) at 3:00 PM CST from the Sanford Pentagon.
