Asheville Tourists News Release
ASHEVILLE, NC-- The Asheville Tourists led the West Virginia Power 3-1 after six innings on Friday night. Unfortunately, the game was scheduled for nine and the visiting Power outscored the Tourists 10-0 over the game's final three frames. Asheville ended up falling 11-3 and the series is now even at one game apiece.
Trey Killian started for the Tourists and worked through six innings. Killian allowed one unearned run in the fourth but the Mountain Home, Arkansas native limited the Power to just two hits and that lone run. The right-hander recorded five strikeouts but did not factor in the decision.
Chris Keck leveled the game at one with a Home Run in the bottom of the fifth. Asheville then rallied for two runs on four hits, all doubles, in the sixth. Yonathan Daza and Sam Hilliard each recorded RBI's on their two-baggers.
In the top of the seventh, West Virginia capitalized on Asheville's bullpen. Javier Palacious allowed four runs while only recording one out. The Power tacked on two more against Logan Sawyer in the eighth. Finally, they added four in the ninth off Alec Kenilvort.
The Power's bullpen tossed three scoreless innings to give starter Dario Agrazal his fourth win of the season. Casey Hughston and Daniel Arribas each connected with Home Runs for the visitors.
Asheville was led offensively by Keck who finished 2-for-4. Daza and Hilliard also contributed two hits each. At one point the Tourists were outhitting the Power 10-2; West Virginia ended up outhitting Asheville 12-11.
Game three of this four-game series is scheduled for 6:05pm on Saturday night. Gates to McCormick Field will open at 4:30pm.
