Owen Sound Attack News Release
Saturday night marks the last game of the regular season for the boys from the bay. The Attack will take on the Guelph Storm at the Lumley Bayshore Community Complex. The Attack sits in ___ in the Western Conference with a slim/no chance of catching Saginaw for 6th. This will be Owen Sound's 3rd game in as many nights due to a postponed tilt from Wednesday to Thursday. The Attack will look to have a strong outing when they take on the top team in the OHL to roll into the playoffs with some momentum.
Kyle Hope is on a hot streak as are all three overage players for the Attack. Kyle Hope and Kurtis Gabriel both have eight game point streaks going. Hope has registered 8 goals and 2 assists during that span while Kurtis Gabriel has tallied 4 goals and 6 assists. Brayden Rose has been no slouch on the back end, tallying 4 assists in his last 4 games.
Local Canadian Olympic Hero, Larisa Yurkiw will be on hand from 6pm-7pm in the Bay Room of the Bayshore for a Meet and Greet. Autographs are available; Bayshore Broadcasting and CIBC Wood Gundy are sponsoring the event, which is open to the public.
Following the meet and greet, Larisa will be on hand to drop the puck for the ceremonial face-off before the game on Saturday.
Larisa is an Owen Sound native who competed for Team Canada at the 2014 Sochi games in the alpine ski events. She competed hard and represented Canada, and Owen Sound with great pride. We are extremely proud of Larisa!
Guelph @ Owen Sound: Saturday, March 15th
The Storm come into Saturday's game still in 1st place in the Western Conference with two games left. They are host to Sarnia on Friday night before they head north on Highway 6 to clash with the Attack. Guelph has 105 points in 66 games this season and will be looking to enter the playoffs with home ice advantage for the remainder of the season.
Who to look out for:
Guelph's last outing versus Kitchener saw them defeat the lonely Rangers 7-3. Brock McGinn had a hat trick for the Storm and Jason Dickinson had a goal and 3 helpers. Along with these boys, the likes Robby Fabbri and Kerby Rychel will look to spoil the Attack's last regular season home game on Saturday Night.
Game time is 7:30 at the Bayshore. Tickets are available at the box office.
