
Lancers Drop Home Opener to Storm, 5-1

RALSTON, NE - The Lancers fell to the Tri-City Storm on Saturday night at Ralston Arena to a final score of 5-1.
Ryan Savage (9:39) broke the ice to begin the first period. Savage was assisted by Jaxon Nelson on the goal for the Lancers. The Storm answered back with two goals. Blais Richartz (11:00) scored unassisted followed by Ian Murphy (19:43) who scored backdoor on Purpura.
In the second period, the Storm kept on the attack gaining a 4-1 lead over the Lancers. Jake Crespi (4:25) netted a goal. Then past the halfway mark of the period, Asa Kinnear (11:38) scored on a shorthanded breakaway. The Storm held onto the 4-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Storm capitalize on an empty net as Joe Berg (19:48) sent the puck from the red line to solidify the win. The Storm took the win with a final score of 5-1.
Purpura stopped 10 of the 14 shots that he faced. The Lancers are now 1-2-0-0 and return to the ice on Friday, October 12th to face the Fargo Force at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is at 7:35 pm and tickets are still available.
