
Lakewood Wins Third-Straight, 4-2 over Greensboro

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Lakewood used a strong performance from starting pitcher Colin Kleven to take Sunday's ballgame against the Greensboro Grasshoppers 4-2.
Kleven tossed 6.1 innings of two-run baseball for the win. Greensboro scored once in the 5th and once in the 7th off Kleven who was relieved by Austin Brough. Kleven dropped his ERA to sub-.500 (3.99) and improved his record to over-.500 with the win (9-8).
Brough tossed 1.2 scoreless innings to bridge the gap to Luis Paulino who notched his third save of the season. Brough has now thrown 19.0 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run since July 23rd at Hagerstown. His ERA has dropped from 6.91 on July 23rd to 2.97 after Sunday's ballgame.
Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 in his sixth consecutive multi-hit game (15-for-27, .556) with a run scored and an RBI. Franco's season average is now at .280 for the season after he was hitting just .207 at the All-Star Break. He is hitting .346 in the second half.
Lakewood is one win away from a four-game sweep of the Grasshoppers which would mark the first sweep of three-plus games for the BlueClaws this season, and the first dating back to June of 2011 at Hagerstown.
The BlueClaws and Grasshoppers square-off in the final game of the 2012 regular season Monday afternoon. Lakewood will send southpaw Ethan Stewart (5-9, 3.98) to the mound against Greensboro's Scott Lyman (3-6, 5.80).
