
Lagace, Everson, Wild Bring Solar Bears Roster Count to 16 Players

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliates of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forwards Marshall Everson and Jacob Lagace and defenseman Cody Wild.
Lagace (5-10, 190 lbs.) played 57 games for the Bakersfield Condors during 2012-13 season, scoring 16 goals and adding 20 assist for 36 points to go along with 68 PIM. He also skated in four games with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) last year. Lagace dressed for 58 games with Rochester in 2011-12, scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assists for 20 points. He split the 2010-11 seasons between the Portland Pirates (AHL) where he had 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 58 games and the Greenville Road Warriors where he had six assists in 13 games. Lagace broke into the professional ranks with one playoff game with Portland at the end of the 2009-10 season.
The native of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec, played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles from 2007-10. In 2008-09, Lagace led Chicoutimi in goals (32) and points (69) in 64 games. He served as an alternate captain of the team in 2009-10, scoring 53 points (30 goals, 23 assists) in 35 games before finishing the season with Cape Breton. In 191 QMJHL games, Lagace totaled 90 goals and 114 assists for 204 points.
Everson (6-2, 200 lbs.) played his first two professional games last season in the AHL as a member of the Peoria Rivermen. He previously played four seasons for Harvard University, finishing tied for second on the team in goals (13) and third in points (32). Everson skated in 119 total games with Harvard, scoring 63 points on 31 goals and 32 assists.
Wild (6-1, 183 lbs.) was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round (#140 overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He played the majority of last season with the Wheeling Nailers where he notched 26 points (6 goals, 20 assists) in 35 games. He also skated in 16 games in the AHL with Hamilton and Wilkes-Barre Scranton earning two assists. Wild's ECHL experience includes 71 games with the Stockton Thunder, Reading Royals, and Wheeling Nailers, scoring eight goals and assisting on 33 others for 41 points. He played his first game in the AHL at the end of the 2007-08 season with the Springfield Falcons, and has since earned time with the Providence Bruins, Hamilton Bulldogs, and Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins. He has played 201 games in the AHL, scoring six goals and picking up 41 assists for 47 points.
Prior to entering the professional ranks, Wild skated three seasons (2005-08) for Providence College where he was named an alternate captain for the 2007-08 season. That season, he tied for the team lead in assists with 18 and his 22 points was fourth best on the club. Wild played in 100 games during his NCAA career, scoring 16 goals and adding 41 assists for 57 points.
"Jacob is a dynamic forward who plays with a lot of energy. He is an extremely hard working, versatile forward who will be an asset to our offense," said Head Coach Vince Williams. "Marshall brings size and has a knack for scoring. He is a young pro with significant upside. Cody Wild is a verteran defenseman who brings an element of offense to our blue line and power play. He is a very experienced defenseman and will be a huge asset to our back end."
