LAFC enters the match against Charlotte with a 16-4-3 MLS regular season record and leads the league with 51 points. LAFC has proven to be one of the toughest teams to beat at home with a 9-1-2 record when playing at The Banc.
Charlotte enter the match against LAFC with a 9-13-2 MLS regular season record, ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference. Saturday's contest will be first time the teams have faced off in the MLS regular season.
NEWS & NOTES:
LAFC is 16-4-3 through 23 games played and leads the league in points (51).
The Black & Gold enter this duel vs. Charlotte with a perfect record against expansion sides in their respective inaugural season, winning all five matches against league newcomers. LAFC has outscored expansion opposition, 9-1 overall and 5-0 in three home matches.
Carlos Vela scored the opening goal in the 2022 MLS All-Star game assisted by Diego Palacios. This is the second consecutive year where LAFC players have combined in assisting and scoring at least one goal for the MLS All-Stars (Eduard Atuesta assisted Jesus Murillo in 2021).
LAFC'S 4-1 victory vs. Real Salt Lake was its fifth straight victory, equaling the longest winning streak in the club's MLS history (5 straight in August 2019). That 2019 LAFC team (52 points) is the only team in MLS history with more points after 23 games than the current team (51).
