Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC host Club de Foot Montreal for Dynamo Charities Weekend and this is the first meeting at PNC Stadium since 2019. The Dynamo enter Saturday's game with a 7-0-1 (WLD) record against Montreal in Houston and the Dynamo looks to earn its fifth victory of the season at home.
The Dynamo look to snap a three-game losing streak after Vancouver Whitecaps FC came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory at BC Place last Friday. Fafa Picault scored his fifth goal of the season to give Houston the lead in the sixth minute. Sam Junqua tallied his first assist of the season, and this was his second start of the campaign. Junqua led the team with nine clearances against the 'Caps and finished with three recoveries. A late rally prevented the Dynamo from earning their fourth road victory of the season. The Dynamo have earned three victories away from home this season, the most since the 2014 campaign.
Montreal and Houston closed the 2021 regular season at Saputo Stadium with the Canadian side earning a 2-0 victory. The all-time series is currently tied with each side winning seven games, all at home, and one draw. Montreal is one of four active teams that have not won a game at PNC Stadium and the Dynamo have outscored Montreal 17-5 at home in the all-time series.
The Dynamo open a two-game road trip next Saturday in the Rocky Mountains against the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The Dynamo return to PNC Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 31 to host Carlos Vela, Gareth Bale and Los Angeles Football Club at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Here are three key points ahead of Saturday's game:
1. CLUB DEVOTES WEEKEND TO DYNAMO CHARITIES: Fans will have opportunities to contribute to Dynamo Charities through a variety of fundraising initiatives this weekend. Fans can take aim at the Bucket Bonanza near section 115 for the opportunity to win team-signed memorabilia, tickets for future games and bobbleheads. Tickets for the bonanza are also available at the Dynamo Charities table in section 102. The 50/50 raffle offers fans half of the pot collected throughout the entire weekend, a first for the program. Additional information is available at section 117 or by asking one of the roaming ticket vendors. The winner of the raffle will be announced at the 75th minute of Saturday's game and posted online at HoustonDynamoFC.com. Proceeds from all fundraising initiatives benefit Dynamo Charities. An overview of Dynamo Charities' impact in 2022 is available here.
2. DYNAMO REPORT FOR ALL-STAR DUTY: Captain Héctor Herrera returned to Houston on Thursday after representing the Dynamo at the 2022 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge. Herrera scored 65 points in the shooting challenge and paved the way for MLS win the All-Star Skills Challenge in Minnesota. The Dynamo was represented across the board in Minnesota as Andre Gitau represented the Dynamo Academy as the youngest player in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game. Additionally, Paulo Alvarez, Sofia Garcia and Julio Garcia represented Dynamo Charities at the Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game.
3. MONTREAL KEEP PACE OUT EAST: Montreal settled for a 2-2 draw last Saturday at home against Inter Miami CF. Former Dynamo forward Romell Quioto scored a brace against Miami, but the backline conceded a goal in the 79th minute to force both teams to split the points. Montreal has won three of their last five games and currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference. Quioto leads the team in goals with 11 and the backline features 2022 MLS All-Star Kamal Miller, who enters the game with three assists.
