
LAFC Falls to Charlotte FC 2-1

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) fell to Charlotte FC 2-1, ending a four-game unbeaten streak in the MLS Regular Season. The Black & Gold lost their second-ever meetings vs. Charlotte, equalizing the series 1-1with a victory for each home team.
Ashley Westwood gave Charlotte the first half advantage scoring in the 29th minute. LAFC answered back as Mario Gonzalez scored the first goal of his MLS career in the 67th minute. Charlotte would take back the lead just eight minutes later as Scott Arfield would score in the game winner in the 75th minute for Charlotte.
The Black & Gold kept looking for the match equalizer with an attempt in the 90th minute (+5) from Denis Bouanga, however LAFC's efforts came short, falling 2-1 to Charlotte.
LAFC remain in second place in the MLS Western Conference (8th overall) with an 11-7-7 record for 40 points, just four points behind conference leaders St. Louis CITY.
LAFC will be back in action on Sunday, September 3 when Inter Miami CF visit BMO Stadium. Next Sunday's match will mark the third time the teams have met with LAFC having come out on top of both of their previous meetings, defeating Miami 1-0 at home in 2020 and 2-0 in Miami in 2022. The highly anticipated matchup between the reigning MLS Cup Champions and the newly crowned Leagues Cup Champions is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 710 AM ESPN Los Angeles, ESPNLA App and 980 La Mera Mera (ESP).
