
LA Galaxy Defender Julian Araujo Called up by Mexican National Team for 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying

LOS ANGELES - LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo has been called up by the Mexican National Team for 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches spanning Jan. 27 - Feb. 2.
Araujo, 20, who started and played 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Chile in his debut with Mexico on Dec. 8, 2021, registered career highs in games played (32), games started (32) and assists (7) for the Galaxy during the 2021 MLS regular-season campaign. Notably, Araujo finished tied for fourth in MLS in tackles won (54) and ranked 11th in the league in interceptions (56), as he was named an MLS All-Star for the first time in his career.
Mexico continues FIFA World Cup Qualifying by traveling to face Jamaica on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 4:00 p.m. PT, playing host to Costa Rica at Estadio Azteca on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 3:00 p.m. PT and squaring off against Panama at Estadio Azteca on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
