
Kowalski Stops Rays 3-1

North Charleston, SC Craig Kowalski made 40 saves and Dan Sisca had a goal and two assists as the Florida Everblades beat the Stingrays 3-1 in front of 3,671 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The loss snapped a two game winning streak for the Stingrays and dropped them to 4-9-5 on the season. Florida won its second straight and improved to 9-5 on the year.
"The effort was there again tonight but we ran into a very hot goaltender in Kowalsky," commented Jason Fitzsimmons.
The Everblades jumped in front of the Stingrays 2-0 in the first period on goals by Daniel Sisca and Kevin Bergin. Sisca's came at 1:12 when he knocked in a pass from Bergin for his fourth goal of the season. Bergin's goal came off a rebound which struck to post behind Davis Parley on an Everblades power play at 19:13.
John Ronan helped the Everblades to a 3-0 lead in the second period when Daniel Sisca intercepted a Stingrays pass and fed Ronan, who blasted a slap shot past Parley at the 9:21 mark. The Stingrays trailed by three heading into the third despite outshooting the Everblades 29-19.
The Stingrays managed a Ty Morris goal in the third period, but Kowalski closed the door earning the Everblades their second straight win.
The Stingrays will host the Florida Everblades on Tuesday night at 7:05 to complete the two game series. After traveling to Greenville to take on the Grrrowl on Friday, the Rays will return home on Saturday, December 3rd to host Greenville. Saturday's game will be Teddy Bear Toss Night for Debbie's Kids and the Salvation Army.
