Dayton Bombers News Release


Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers beat the Toledo Storm, 5-4, in front of 2,016 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday afternoon. Scott Cameron recorded four assists, and is now the ECHL's second leading scorer with 25 points in 17 games.

The Storm struck first when Brad Bonello scored his third goal of the season giving Toledo a 1-0 lead. Bombers rookie defenseman Tyson Teplitsky scored two goal 32 seconds apart to give Dayton a 2-1 lead, before Bracken Kearns tied the game, 2-2 at 8:08 of the first period.

The Bombers erupted for three straight goals in the second period when Tim Konsorada (14:44), Jay Latulippe (17:16) and Jeff Szwez (18:29) scored to give Dayton a 5-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Storm made it interesting with third period goals from Jason Maleyko (8:33) and Bracken Kearns (10:23), but the Bombers held on and snapped a 4-game winless skid with the 5-4 victory. Toledo outshot Dayton, 43-38.

Bombers goaltender Mike Brown faced 99 shots and claimed 3 of a possible 4 points in two games against the Storm this weekend.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
