SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls look for their third straight win and to gain ground in the Pacific Division when they host the first-place Fresno Falcons this evening at the ipayOne Center.
SERIES HISTORY: The Gulls and Falcons have met twice so far this season with Fresno holding an early 2-0-0 series edge. The two teams will square off three more times during the regular season, including two in San Diego.

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting a 74-35-7 record against its Pacific Division rival. The Gulls are 43-12-3 all-time against the Falcons at the ipayOne Center.
LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING (NOV. 19 AT FRESNO): It was a scoreless game heading into the third period, but the Falcons tallied three straight goals - including two in a 49-second span - and skated away 3-1 winners. Dustin Van Ballegooie started the scoring just 19 seconds into the final fame before Shawn Mather and Luke Curtin scored back-to-back goals midway through the stanza. GULLS UPDATE: San Diego (7-7-2) enters the day with 16 points, tied for second in the Pacific Division with the Long Beach Ice Dogs. The Gulls and Ice Dogs trail the first-place Falcons by three points and are two points ahead of the fourth-place Bakersfield Condors... San Diego has won two straight and is unbeaten in eight of its last 10 games (6-2-2)... In those 10 games, five have been decided by one goal and four have been decided by two goals... The Gulls played 10 of their first 13 games on the road... Tonight is the fourth of a season-long seven-game homestand... San Diego is 4-1-1 at home this season...
OTHER NOTES: Wednesday was San Diego's 400th all-time home game (which includes all West Coast Hockey League and postseason play). The Gulls are 310-70-22 all-time at home (.799 winning percentage)... Fournier had his career-high nine-game point streak snapped last night. He had 12 points (5g, 7a) during the streak... Dan DaSilva has six points (4g, 2a) in three games since being assigned by the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters... Alex Kim has five points (2g, 3a) in three games... The "French Fries" line of Fournier, Pierre-Luc Sleigher and Martin Mandeville has combined for 26 points (11g, 15a) in the last 10 games... Steve Hildenbrand has nine points in the last six games (3g, 6a)... The Gulls have killed 45 of their last 48 penalties, dating back to Nov. 12 in Fresno... San Diego has scored 17 power-play goals in the last 10 games...
FRESNO UPDATE: Fresno (8-3-3) starts the day first in the Pacific Division with 19 points, three ahead of the Gulls and Ice Dogs... The Falcons have suffered two straight shootout losses but are unbeaten in regulation in four straight games (2-0-2)... Fresno has played 10 of its first 14 games at home... The Falcons are 7-0-1 against Pacific Division teams and 1-3-2 against the West Division... They are 3-for-38 on the power play over the last six games (7.9 percent)... Curtin had an eight-game point streak snapped last night in Bakersfield...
TRANSACTIONS: Defenseman Chet Ferreira was activated from the seven-day injured list yesterday... Defenseman Justin Silver was released yesterday... DaSilva was assigned by Lowell Tuesday...
