
Komm Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), are proud to announce that Branden Komm has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 21-27.
Komm is undefeated with South Carolina since joining the club in November. The Williamsville, N.Y., native started both of South Carolina's home games versus Norfolk last weekend, going 2-0-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage.
Komm stopped 25 shots in Sunday's 3-0 win over Norfolk to earn his first professional shutout. He was also strong in a 5-2 win over the Admirals on Saturday, stopping 17 shots.
The 24-year-old is a perfect 5-0-0-0 on the season with South Carolina. He has registered a 1.40 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage this season.
Komm joined the Stingrays after splitting time with Cincinnati and Evansville last season as a rookie. Prior to turning pro, he appeared in 115 career games over four seasons at Bentley University.
The Stingrays visit the Orlando Solar Bears today. Fans may watch the game and enjoy select $3 drafts at the Official Watch Party destination of the Stingrays, King Street Grille-Northwoods.
South Carolina returns home to open 2016 with a pair of games versus Cincinnati this weekend. Saturday's game features an appearance from the Zooperstars! and starts at 7:05 p.m. Sunday is a jam-packed afternoon, with a 3:05 puck drop. It's a Youth Replica Jersey Giveaway to the first 1,000 kids, and the game features $5 Kids Tickets and $5 Kids Meals. Also, fans may stick around for a Postgame Skate with the Rays.
