Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets have 3 games remaining in 2006-07 and find themselves 3 points behind Muskegon in the race for the Tarry Cup and 3 points ahead of Rockford in the battle for the Western Conference title. This final week of the UHL season will be needed to determine who grabs the regular season championship and who can claim bragging rights for the West.

Last week the Komets won all 3 games played extending their win streak to 4 games while earning 6 points and improving to 48-21-4 for 100 points on the season. It's the third time in 8 UHL seasons the Komets have reached the 100-point mark.

The Komets started last week's slate with a 6-2 victory at Flint. Friday the Komets turned back the Generals 6-4 in Fort Wayne to give the K's a 6-1-0 season series win over Flint. Saturday the Komets earned their 5th straight win over the Hounds 3-2 in a shootout and claimed the season series 8-3-0.

This week the Komets will complete the regular season schedule playing 3 games in 3 nights starting Thursday in Bloomington at 8:05pm. The Komets lead the season series 5-4-0. The Thunder is 2-5-1 in their last 8 outings and are coming off a 1-1-1 weekend after losing their last game played 3-2 to Rockford Sunday.

Friday Muskegon visits Fort Wayne for the Komet's regular season home finale at 8pm. The Komets are 4-2-0 in games this season against the UHL leaders. Muskegon skates Wednesday at Rockford before traveling to Fort Wayne Friday. The Fury 5-3-2 in their last 10 games after splitting last weekend's games 1-1-1.

Saturday the Komets complete the regular season docket at Wings Stadium with a 7:30pm faceoff against Kalamazoo. The Wings have won their last 2 games and are 8-1-0 in their last 9. Saturday's game will be the 10th meeting of the season with the Komets leading the series 5-2-2.

Komets first round home games 1 and 2 set.....the Komets have clinched home-ice advantage for the first round of the 2007 UHL best-of-7 series with the first 2 games slated for Friday, April 13 at 8pm and Saturday, April 14 at 7:30pm at the Memorial Coliseum. The Komets will face either Chicago or Quad City in the first round depending on the outcome of this week's games. Individual game tickets for playoff home games 1 and 2 are on sale at the Coliseum ticket office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Komets Player Awards Friday.....Komet end-of-year player awards will be presented immediately following Friday's season-finale home game against Muskegon. Player awards to be presented include NOB Brick Award for the stonewall defensive forward of the season, the Unsung Hero Award, the Komet's Defenseman of the Year Award, the Komets Rookie of the Year Award, Komet Kuarter's's Most Improved Player Award, the Wiegmann Family True Komet Award, the Mr. Hustle Award, the Bud Gallmeier Community Service Award, the Plus/Minus Award, and the Komet's MVP Award.

Career Year: 3 games remain on the season and several Komets have already set career marks. Kevin St. Pierre (G) 61 games, 39 wins, 3547 minutes.....Guy Dupuis (D) 61 assists, 72 points....Mario Larocque (D) 73 games, 26 goals, 39 assists, 65 points.....Kevin Hansen (D) 146 penalty minutes.....David Hukalo (RW) 16 goals, 32 points (ties his career high point mark of last year), 81 penalty minutes.....Pascal Morency (RW) 65 games, 9 goals, 13 assists, 22 points.....J.C. Ruid (C) 42 goals (ties his career mark set in 02-03).

Komet Ironmen: Guy Dupuis (D) and Mario Larocque (D) each have skated all 73 Komet games to date.

St. Pierre at 61 games and counting.....Fort Wayne goaltender Kevin St. Pierre appeared in his 59th Komet game of the season last Wednesday 3/28/07 at Flint and set a new Fort Wayne record of UHL games by a goaltender in a regular season. St. Pierre added games Friday and Saturday to set the mark at 61 with 3 games remaining in the season.

Leading Komets....center J.C. Ruid continues to lead the Komets with 42 goals and is 2nd overall in the UHL with 91 points.....Guy Dupuis (D) leads with 61 assists (2nd overall in the UHL), leads all UHL scorers with 38 power play assists and leads UHL defensemen with 72 points.....Mario Larocque and Dupuis lead the Komets with +23.....Larocque tops UHL defensemen with 26 goals and 17 power play goals.....Kevin St. Pierre leads UHL goalies with 39 wins and in minutes with 3547:03.

Streaking Komets: Terry Marchant (D) has a 4-game point streak (2g, 3a)....Jonathan Goodwin is riding a 4-game point streak (3g, 2a).....Kevin St. Pierre (G) has a 4-game winning streak and has started 5 straight games.

Milestones: Bruce Richardson (C) passed his 100th UHL assist and A.J. Bozoian (D) skated his 100th UHL career game 3/28 at Flint.....David Hukalo (RW) appeared in his 200th UHL career game 3/30 vs Flint.

BOB CHASE BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT....all votes have been tabulated and Komet radio announcer Bob Chase was chosen as the most desired Komet to be immortalized on a bobblehead doll. So, this Friday night when the Komets host the Muskegon Fury the first 1,000 fans attending the Komets game will each get a free Bob Chase Bobblehead collectable doll courtesy Source One Solutions.

Fill up at Marathon and earn Komet tickets.....the Komets Marathon Fill-Up Cards have been available again this year at all participating area Marathon gas stations.
