Chicago responded next, but Chris Bogas made it a 2-goal game and Kris Vernarsky and Pat Sutton each contributed to tie the game in regulation. In the shootout, the Flags went 0-for-3, while the Hounds capitalized in the first three rounds to grab the win and lock a playoff spot.

Team Notes

- Earning two points, combined with key losses from Elmira and Bloomington, the Flags locked up the final playoff berth this weekend, sealing a first-round series with the Muskegon Fury. It was also just the second time in this calendar year that Port Huron held a lead over Kalamazoo.

- On Sunday, the Flags scored the first goal in a game against Kalamazoo, ending a drought of 120:00 minutes of playing time without a goal against the Wings.

- Chicago's tie-breaker on Wednesday night was only the second shoot-out loss of the season to a non-conference opponent. The Flags lead the league in shoot-out appearances (16).

- Colt King is riding a 2-game point streak, for just the third time this season. His season record for consecutive games with a point is 4 (3/2 - 3/9).

- With 2,262 fans on Sunday, Port Huron broke the 70,000 marker for the season, with a yearly total of 70,670 and one more regulation game on the calendar.

- Ryan Markham scored his 6th shorthanded goal on Friday. He is third in the league and first among rookies in SHG.

- Scott Wray continues to lead the league in shots on goal, with 380

Upcoming Games:

Wednesday, Apr. 4 @ Elmira Jackals

Friday, Apr. 6 @ Elmira Jackals

Saturday, Apr. 7 @ Elmira Jackals (Home)

The Flags are getting ready to shut down the regular season, in a three game series with Elmira. After two road contests at First Arena, the Jackals will trek to McMorran for the final game on Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. With the Flags in the playoffs and the Jackals eliminated, the significance of these three contests has lessened, however Port Huron is looking to head into the post-season winning. In their last meeting, the Flags trounced the Jackals, 6-2, and are 5-4-2 in season play against the conference opponent. Greg Bullock has had tremendous success against Elmira, amassing 19 (5g-14a) in 11 games. Colt King leads the team in goals (5), while he and Big Bert Snowball top the penalty minutes chart, with 22 apiece. Ironically, Scott Wray has scored 7 goals in match-ups between the Flags and the Jackals; three in an Elmira uniform and four as a Flag.
