Team Notes: The Generals will finish third in the Eastern Conference this season and will face Kalamazoo in the first round of the Colonial Cup Playoffs...The Generals are 3-5-0 against Kalamazoo this season with one game remaining...The Generals have the second best power play percentage in the league at 19.1% and lead the league with 99 power play goals...The Generals best period for goal differential in the second period having outscored the opposition 91-82.

Wednesday, March 28 Fort Wayne 6 @ Flint 2

The Komets took a 1-0 lead in the game on a Bruce Richardson power play goal at 2:36 of the first period. The Generals tied the game with a Rick Smith power play goal at 6:13 from Jordan Fox and Shaun Fisher. The Komets scored two more times in the first period to take a 3-1 lead. The Komets extended the lead to 5-1 with the only two goals scored in the second period. A shorthanded goal at 10:28 of the third period by Terry Marchant gave Fort Wayne a 6-1 lead. The Generals ended the scoring at 13:13 with a Bogdan Rudenko goal from Jan Jas and Bobby Reynolds. Bryan Worosz made 24 saves on 30 shots in the loss.

Friday, March 30 Flint 4 @ Fort Wayne 6

Pascal Morency gave the Komets a 1-0 lead with a goal at 4:41 of the first period. The Generals tied the game 1-1 at 9:28 on a Jeff Zehr goal from Jan Jas and Bobby Reynolds. David Hukalo and Morency scored before the first period ended to increase the Komets lead to 3-1. Fort Wayne extended the lead to 4-1 at 5:16 of the second period. The Generals scored a pair of power play goals to get back to within one goal at 4-3. The goals were scored by Martin Ondrej at 12:49 and Jan Jas at 19:52. Hukalo scored twice in the third period to complete his hat trick and give the Komets a 6-3 lead. Bobby Reynolds ended the scoring at 14:04 on a goal from Gerard Miller. Bryan Worosz made 20 saves on 26 shots in the loss.

Saturday, March 31 Flint 7 @ Port Huron 2

The Flags took a 2-0 lead over the Generals with power play goals at 5:19 and 7:57 of the first period. Shawn Snider scored the Generals first goal of the game at 11:34 from Jeff Zehr and Tyson Turgeon to make it 2-1 at the end of one period of play. Preston Cicchine and Bogdan Rudenko scored for Flint in the second period to give the Generals a 3-2 lead. Rick Smith and Jan Jas scored in the third period along with a pair of Rudenko goals to end the scoring. The Rudenko hat trick was the second of the season for the Generals. Jason Muzzatti 30 saves on 32 shots for the win.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES

April 2 - April 8

Wednesday, April 4 Kalamazoo @ Flint 7:15p.m.

This will be the final game of the regular season between these teams. It is also a preview of the first round of the playoffs. The Generals are 3-5-0 against the Wings this season and will face them in the first round of the Colonial Cup Playoffs.

Friday, April 6 Quad City @ Flint 7:30p.m.

The Generals play the Mallards for the final time this season. It will be the final home game of the regular season for the Generals. The Generals are 1-5-0 against the Mallards this season, 1-1-0 in Flint.

Saturday, April 7 Flint @ Bloomington 8:05p.m.

The Generals end the regular season in Bloomington. The Generals are 4-1-0 against the Prairie Thunder this season, 1-1-0 in Bloomington.

Generals Player of the Week:

The Generals Player of the Week is Bogdan Rudenko. Rudenko had four points in three games last week on four goals. He had one goal on Wednesday against Fort Wayne and three goals on Sunday at Port Huron, including the game-winning goal.

Generals Goaltender of the Week:

The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Jason Muzzatti. Muzzatti was 1-0-0 in one game last week. He made 30 saves on 32 shots for a .938 save percentage. He also had a goals against average of 2.00.
