Booras earns weekly honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - For the fourth time this season, rookie forward Jon Booras of the Bloomington PrairieThunder has been name the Lone Star Restaurant "Player of the Week" for his performance in the team's three games last week, it was announced Monday.

Booras scored five points on two goals and three assists and a plus-5 rating as the PrairieThunder posted a 1-2 record. Booras had two assists in helping the PrairieThunder past Chicago, 4-2. He had an assist on Mike Zbriger's game-winning goal.

The Billings, Mont., native added a goal and an assist against Quad City on Saturday and had a short-handed goal against Rockford on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The PrairieThunder concludes its first season with three games this week. Bloomington plays host to Western Conference leader Fort Wayne at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum before traveling to Kalamazoo for a 6:30 p.m. contest Friday.

Bloomington concludes its season with a 7:05 p.m. game Saturday against Flint at U.S. Cellular Coliseum where it will be Fan Appreciation. Prizes and trips will be given away throughout the game.
