
Mallards End Regular Season with Road Trip

Moline, IL- The Mallards wrap up their regular season with three road games this week. The team heads to Chicago on Wednesday night for their final Western Conference match-up of the regular season. On Friday, the team is in Flint for a game vs. the Generals. Saturday night, Quad City plays their final game of the 2006-07 regular season in Muskegon.
Last week, the Mallards went 3-0-0 to clinch the third seed in the UHL Western Conference Playoffs. The Mallards kicked off the week with a 3-0 win over Kalamazoo. Luke Stauffacher supplied the offense in the win as he recorded his third hat trick of the season. Saturday night, the Mallards eliminated Bloomington from the UHL playoff picture with a 4-3 shootout win over the PrairieThunder. The team wrapped up the week with a 4-2 win over Muskegon in their home finale.

Saturday, April 7th at Muskegon 6:30 p.m. central time in Muskegon
The Mallards close out the 2006-07 regular season on Saturday in Muskegon. Mallards fans are invited to join the team in Muskegon and the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor, located next to L.C. Walker Arena, is offering a special travel packages for fans making the trip. Playoff Hockey at The MARK
Playoff hockey is coming to The MARK this April. Season ticket holders can use the season ticket holder card located at the back of their season ticket book for admission to all Mallards playoff games. Season ticket holders that have misplaced their card can visit The MARK box office to obtain their complimentary playoff tickets.

The Hounds host the Mallards on Wednesday night. It marks the Mallards final game of the regular season vs. a Western Conference opponent. Quad City is 3-6-0 vs. the Hounds this season.
Friday, April 6th at Flint 6:30 p.m. central time in Muskegon
The Mallards are in Flint on Friday for a showdown with the Generals. The Mallards hold a 5-1-0 record vs. Flint this year. In the teams' most recent meeting, Flint earned a 5-2 win on home ice on March 24th.
Saturday, April 7th at Muskegon 6:30 p.m. central time in Muskegon
The Mallards have won each of their last two meetings with the Fury. On Saturday night, the teams meet for the 101st time in franchise history.
Duck Talk on the Air
Duck Talk is back at The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge tonight. Defensemen Jami Yoder and Derek Miller and forward Jeff Petruic will join host Aaron Roof and Mallards Head Coach Brian Curran. The show begins at 6:00 p.m. at The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge. Duck Talk can also be heard on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230.

Friday, March 30th - Kalamazoo 2 at Quad City 3
Luke Stauffacher powered the Mallards to a 3-2 win on Friday night at The MARK. Stauffacher recorded a hat trick in the win to reach the 40-goal plateau for the season. Netminder Jason Tapp made 45 saves in the win including several dramatic saves in the final minutes of the contest. In the first, Stauffacher struck twice to give Quad City a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Stauffacher recorded his first marker off a face-off win by Sean Starke at 2:14 of the first period. At 14:56, Stauffacher struck again as he dangled around the Kalamazoo defense before wristing a shot through traffic and into the Wings net. Kalamazoo sliced the Mallards lead in half when Paul Caponigri scored the second period's only goal on a Kalamazoo power play at 16:27 of the middle period. In the third, the Wings tied the game when Jason Lawmaster scored while the teams were skating four-on-four. With just 7:20 remaining, Stauffacher netted the game-winner on a feed from Brett Pilkington to record a hat trick and secure the win. Tapp made 17 third period saves including a flurry of stops in the final minute to earn the win.
Saturday, March 31st - Quad City 4 at Bloomington 3 Shootout
The Mallards earned a 4-3 shootout win over Bloomington on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Arena. With the win, the Mallards eliminated Bloomington from the UHL post-season and secured a playoff position for the Port Huron Flags. Bloomington held a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes as Jon Booras scored the only goal at 13:46 of the opening frame. At 7:41 of the second, Brett Pilkington converted on a beautiful feed from Chad Woollard to tie the game at one. The assist was the 150th career point as a Mallard for Woollard, tying him with Mike Melas for ninth on the franchise's All-Time Scoring List. The PrairieThunder reclaimed the lead when John Spoltore scored on the power-play at 9:02 of the middle frame. The Mallards tied the game again with 3:30 left in the third when Mathieu Wathier scored his third goal of the year on a Mallards power play to set the score at 2-2 after two periods. In the third, Justin Chwedoruk tipped home a Dale Lupul power-play point shot to give the Mallards the lead for the first time at 3-2. Bloomington's Mike Zbriger tied the game six minutes later when he sent a blast from the left wing wall into the Mallards net. Regulation ended with the game tied at three. In the shootout, Luke Stauffacher netted the only goal while Brad Smith stopped all five shooters he faced. The loss was the first shootout defeat of the year for Bloomington's Kris Tebbs, who is tied for the league lead in shootout wins with six.
Sunday, April 1st - Muskegon 2 at Quad City 4
The Mallards beat the UHL's top squad, the Muskegon Fury, 4-2 on Sunday in their home finale for the 2006-07 regular season. Chad Woollard led the charge with a three-point night while Jason Tapp made 28 saves to earn his 30th win. In the first period, Brett Pilkington netted his 27th goal of the year to stake Quad City to a 1-0 lead that they held through the first two periods. Chad Woollard assisted on the marker and with the point passed Mike Melas for ninth on the Mallards All-Time Scoring List with 152 points as a Mallard. In the third, the Mallards opened up a 2-0 lead on a goal by Woollard. The tally established a new career high for Woollard for points in a season. The Fury fought back to tie the game on goals by Todd Robinson and Bill Zalba. With the score knotted at two and just 2:13 remaining, Dale Lupul beat Muskegon's Ryan Cyr on a point shot to put the Mallards in front 3-2. Matt Radoslovich sealed the deal with his 10th goal of the year, scored into an empty net with 35 seconds left in the game.
Player of the Week
Chad Woollard is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. After being held scoreless on Friday, he earned an assist in a 4-3 win over Bloomington on Saturday. Sunday afternoon, he recorded a goal and two assists.
Goalie of the Week
Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goalie of the Week. He went 2-0-0 with wins over Kalamazoo and Muskegon.
