Fort Wayne Komets News Release
The Komets will host the Dayton Gems Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 7:30pm prior to a three-day Christmas break. The Komets will skate at Dayton Sunday, Dec. 26 at 5pm and launch a stretch of five games in seven nights for the week after Christmas leading up to the New Year.
Wednesday, Dec. 22, Dayton Gems (13-9-1) at Fort Wayne Komets (5-15-1), 7:30pm ET
The Komets try to snap a seven-game winless string when the Dayton Gems return to Coliseum ice at 7:30pm. The Komets are winless against Dayton so far this season in four meetings after suffering a 3-2 loss last Saturday night in Fort Wayne. Dayton has won their last two outings and are 2-3-0 in their last five and trail first-place Rapid City in the Turner Conference by five points going into week 11 of 2010-11.
Sunday, Dec. 26, Fort Wayne Komets at Dayton Gems, 5pm ET
The Komets and Dayton meet for the third of a four-game holiday series Sunday at 5pm at Hara Arena in Dayton. Sunday's game kicks off a week of five games in seven nights for the Komets.
Monday, Dec. 27, Dayton Gems at Fort Wayne Komets, 7:30pm
The Komets conclude their four-game series against Dayton on the only Monday night home game of the season.
Wednesday, Dec. 29, Mississippi RiverKings (12-12-1) at Fort Wayne Komets, 7:30pm
The RiverKings make their only appearance of the season in Fort Wayne. Mississippi enters week 11 in sixth place in the Berry Conference of the CHL with 25 points after 25 games.
Friday, Dec. 31, Quad City Mallards (13-11-2) at Fort Wayne, 8pm
The Mallards will visit to ring in the New Year with the Komets. It's the 54th New Year's Eve game in Fort Wayne where the Komets have an eight-game New Year's Eve winning streak and are 36-13-4 on the last night of the year.
It's Quad City's first visit to Fort Wayne for a New Year's Eve game.
Saturday, Jan. 1, Fort Wayne Komets at Dayton Gems, 7:30pm
It's the seventh meeting of the season between the Gems and K's as the teams reach the halfway point of the 14-game season series. It's the first time the Komets have played on New Year's Day since Jan. 1, 1994 when they defeated the Rivermen at Peoria 3-2.
Streaking Komets -- Center Leo Thomas is riding a four-game point streak (2 goals, 2 assists) and left wing P.C. Drouin has points in four straight games (1 goal, 3 assists).
Lardner reaches 400 CHL games -- left winger Tab Lardner skated his 400th CHL career game last Saturday night in Fort Wayne against the Gems.
