Tomas Klempa Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced on Monday that Killer Bees forward Tomas Klempa (toe-MAS klem-pah) has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week. During the past week the Bees completed a four-game road trip with a perfect 4-0-0 record.

Tomas Klempa was instrumental in the teams run scoring four goals and racking up five assists for a total of nine points in the four games. Klempa scored two of the Bees game winning goals, including an overtime strike against Laredo on December 14. Klempa also carried a +4 rating during the past week.

"Tomas plays every shift at full effort and his work ethic is superb." said head coach Chris Brooks.

The Bees currently reside in fourth place in the Berry Conference, vaulting themselves up the standings with the four straight victories.

Rio Grande Valley will play Laredo in a home and home on Tuesday and Wednesday before breaking for the holidays. Tuesday's game is at the State Farm Arena at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available at killerbeehockey.com and 956-843-PUCK (7825).
