Rio Grande Valley’s Tomas Klempa Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (December 20, 2010) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Rio Grande Valley forward Tomas Klempa has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending December 19, 2010.

Klempa helped lead his team to a perfect 4-0 week, all four wins came on the road. The Prestany, Slovakia native had four goals (two game winners), five assists and was a +4. On Tuesday in Laredo, Klempa assisted on the game-tying goal and then scored the game winner in overtime in the Killer Bees 4-3 win. In Friday ‚¬â„¢s 4-2 win at Bossier-Shreveport, Klempa scored a pair of third period goals, accounting for the game winner, and then on Saturday in Laredo, he gave the Bees a 2-1 lead in the second period with a goal and also had two helpers.

On the season, the 5-8, 170-pound forward leads his team with 33 points, 13 goals, 20 assists and four game winning goals.
