Komets add defenseman Ryan Jorde

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced today that they have traded winger Danny Stewart to the Danbury Trashers of the UHL for defenseman Ryan Jorde.

Jorde, 23, has played the last 3 seasons with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League posting 1 goal and 4 assists in 124 games while registering 218 penalty minutes. Jorde started this season skating 6 games with Danbury before appearing in 2 AHL games last week with Lowell.

Jorde, a 9th round draft pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, hails from Kelowna, British Columbia and is expected to be in the lineup when the Komets host Quad City Thanksgiving night.

Stewart, 26, was playing his 3rd season with the Komets and posted 2 goals and 36 penalty minutes in 11 games played.

Komets skate 3 games in 3 nights this week.....Thursday the Komets will host the Quad City Mallards at 7:30pm in the traditional Komet home Thanksgiving game (ESPN Radio AM 1380). Friday the Komets will travel to Missouri to face the River Otters at 8pm (no Fort Wayne radio). Saturday the Komets return home to host the Flint Generals at the coliseum at 7:30pm (ESPN Radio AM 1380). Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
