Trashers swap Jorde for Stewart

DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL), have completed a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets. Danbury received forward Danny Stewart in exchange for defenseman Ryan Jorde, it was announced by Team President A.J. Galante.

Stewart, 26, is currently playing in his 3rd season as a professional after completing a four-year collegiate career with Miami University (Ohio). As a pro, Stewart logged 153 games (including this season) with 59 points on 24 goals.

In 75 games last season, Stewart ranked 8th on the Komets in scoring with 33 points on 12 goals. He was second on the club in penalty minutes with 192 and majors with 14.

He also has extensive playoff experience with six points on two goals in 27 games. Last season he appeared in 18 playoff games for the Komets as they reached the Colonial Cup Finals.

Over 11 games this season, Stewart has two points on two goals and 36 penalty minutes for the struggling Komets, who are 3-7-2 this season.

In exchange for Stewart, the Trashers sent defenseman Ryan Jorde to Fort Wayne. Jorde dressed in six games with no points and 10 penalty minutes and was a -6.

The Trashers host the Richmond RiverDogs on Wednesday November 23rd at 7pm from the Danbury Ice Arena. After playing in Richmond on Friday, the Trashers return home for a 7:30 game against Adirondack on Saturday night and a 5:30 game on Sunday afternoon against Port Huron.
