(Fort Mill, SC) - Conor Jackson led off the 11th inning with his fourth hit of the game and Josh Phegley's 11th inning at-bat sent the Knights home happy.

Charlotte (61-45) scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning on a fielding error by Yankees third baseman Doug Bernier, and the Knights walked-off with a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at Knights Stadium.

Yankees reliever Ryota Igarashi (2-3, 2.33), who saved Tuesday's game, took the ball to begin the 11th with the game tied 3-3. Igarashi had his troubles on Wednesday.

Jackson, who entered his at-bat in the 11th with three hits on the day, doubled to left field to give the Knights a runner in scoring position with no outs. Two batters later, Phegley stepped to the plate with a chance to be the hero.

After fouling two pitches off, Phegley hit a ball to Bernier, who came up with a throwing error, which allowed Jackson to score the game's winning run and give the Knights their first win of the series.

"He had some pretty nasty stuff," said Phegley. "I just put the bat on the ball and they sent us home."

Reliever Brandon Kloess (3-0, 1.50) worked the final two innings to earn the victory. Kloess struck-out two batters over two innings of work.

"On a night like this, it's nice to just be on top after that win and go home happy," added Phegley.

Jackson extended his hit-streak to nine games and finished the night 4-5 with two runs scored. RHP Dylan Axelrod allowed just one run over five innings in his first start since coming back to the Knights from Chicago.

With Norfolk also winning on Wednesday, the Knights lead in the International League South Division remained at seven games.

Charlotte and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will battle in game three of the series on Thursday. RHP Simon Castro will take the ball for the Knights, while the Yankees will send RHP Ramon Ortiz to the hill. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. on Thirsty Thursday T, courtesy of Hickory Tavern. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
