OHL London Knights

Knights Lace up in Gold this Weekend

September 25, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
London Knights News Release

When the London Knights take to the ice for their season opener games this weekend, they'll be doing so with gold laces tying up their skates. September is known as Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and with gold being the colour of Childhood Cancer, the London Knights Hockey Club are proud to partner with Childcan in supporting this worthwhile cause - one near and dear to the hearts of the Knights.

This summer, sixteen-year-old Jacob Buch, the Knights' 5th round (95th overall) selection in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that affects mainly children and adolescents. Buch, who signed with the Knights in June of 2014 and played last season with the GOJHL's Caledonia Corvairs, is currently undergoing treatment.

Childcan will be selling gold hockey laces at both games this weekend with all proceeds going to support their cause. Support the London Knights, support Childcan and support Jacob Buch. Purchase your pair of gold laces this Friday and Saturday night as the London Knights take on the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Kingston Frontenacs at Budweiser Gardens.
