Charlotte Knights News Release

(Fort Mill, SC) - On Thursday night at Knights Stadium, the Charlotte Knights and Lehigh Valley IronPigs completed their suspended game from May 4th in Allentown, PA. The game was resumed in the top of the fourth inning with the Knights as the road team and the score tied, 3-3 on Thursday. The IronPigs prevailed 5-4 in 10 innings on a rare walk-off win for the team in the visiting dugout.

Lehigh Valley took the lead 4-3 in the sixth inning on an opposite-field home run from right-hander Cody Overbeck.

Charlotte (24-23) tied it back up in the eighth. Jim Gallagher singled to lead off the inning and Ray Olmedo bunted him to second. One out later, Tyler Kuhn drove Gallagher home with a base hit to left field.

Overbeck turned out to be the hero for Lehigh Valley as he drove home the winning run in the tenth inning. It was the first run scored off of Knights reliever Leyson Septimo (2-1, 0.64) this season. Matt Zaleski had started the game back on May 4th but did not factor in the decision.

Back on May 4th, Dan Johnson hit a three-run home run in the first inning of the suspended game and now has 10 home runs and 37 RBIs for the season. Kuhn was 4-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Knights.

The Knights and IronPigs are currently playing the originally scheduled game. That game is scheduled for seven innings from Knights Stadium.
